Occupational Health and Safety
North Oz Projects is unreservedly committed to the health and safety of its workforce in occupational health and safety, with the aim of creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment throughout the business. North Oz Projects believes all injuries and occupational diseases are preventable and its priority is to prevent any fatalities, injuries and/or illness arising during the course of employment. We value each individual employee and recognise that responsibilities and obligations are reciprocal between our Company and employees.
Consistent with this, North Oz Projects will:
- Seek continuous improvement in its occupational health and safety performance, and maintain the practice of ‘Zero Harm’ to ensure, where practicable, no adverse hazards or harm impact on the Company’s personnel or the environment.
- Comply with all applicable legislation and Australian Standards and other responsible industry requirements to which North Oz Projects subscribes to.
- Develop methods of evaluating performance and involve employees and contractors in the improvement of occupational health and safety performance.
- Constantly and consistently offer training to individual employees.
- Implement action plans and risk assessments which establish, monitor and maintain a safe workplace.
- Ensure all mobile plant and equipment are maintained to the highest order and are in a safe and appropriate condition at all times.
- Develop a culture in the workplace that promotes and focuses on injury prevention and fitness for work.
- Have open lines of communication throughout the organisation which includes toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings, crib rooms, electronic forms of communication and/or other means as appropriate.
Environmental Awareness
North Oz Projects adhere to individual worksite practices, local council guidelines & DoE & Conservation regulations. We encourage and promote open lines of communication between all relevant authorities to achieve a high standard of environmental care in conducting our business and to reduce our impact on the environment.
